WebViewer - Progressive Web Application

dicom.link WebViewer is also provided as an PWA. A progressive web application (PWA) is a type of application software delivered through the web, built using common web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is intended to work on any platform that uses a standards-compliant browser, mobile devices included. Installing a PWA adds it to a user’s launcher, allowing it to be run like any other installed app. dicom.link WebViewer PWA has the same benefits as the online viewer with some extra features:

  • can run in offline mode
  • it updates automaticaly, you always have the latest version
  • mobile friendly, runs as a native app
  • loading time is significantly faster
  • extremely lightweight
  • can act as a frontend to any accesible DicomProxy servers

Installation

Use any compatible web browser (recommended latest version of Chrome/Chromium) and access the online viewer The embedded viewer will prompt you to install the app:

 



An icon will be placed on the Desktop which will confirm the installation and launch the offline app.
